History. The first enterprises in the branch were constructed prior to World War II and were used as a part of the former USSR's defense industry. After 1960 the enterprises were modernized and reconstructed for the production of consumer goods. However, a portion of the enterprises remained within the structure of leading industries in the former USSR. These enterprises have been upgraded with modern equipment, technology, highly skilled staff, and they continue to cooperate closely with leading enterprises of the former USSR. For example, the OJSC "Bodom" continues to manufacture spare parts for lorries and cars produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant. |
